Allister Garside's photos
We are slowly working our way through a small box of photos that came to use several years ago from Allister Garside. The three girls above, who are possibly two Cannon sisters either side, with Allister's sister Laura in the centre, were possibly photographed at Seaspray.
Laura Garside was born 1911, so the guess for this photo is mid-1920s. The handwriting is sometimes difficult to decipher:
No births can be found in CANNON, GANNON or CAMM that exactly fit the sisters.
A larger print is HERE. If anyone definitely identify the two sisters, it would be appreciated.
It is a fascinating collection. The box appears to be an early chocolate box, and photos have come from a number of sources. There are some from the Wilson family (Allister married Caroline Wilson), and many from the Kings - his mother's family. Associated names are McCamey, Tuhan, Bartlett, Ware and Caldwell.
The photographs are a mixture of photographs of babies and children, inscribed and sometimes dated on the back, addressed to various aunts and uncles. Then, there are the snapshots, which Allister and possibly others, have named in later life.
Another of the photos from the collection can be found HERE.
The Society would welcome contact from any of the associated families, in an attempt to identify further photographs. Details and names are so far held for about forty of them.

Hi Linda,
Could their surname be Carmen? Perhaps they were immigrants. Maybe they will appear in 1930s marriages index.
Hi Lenore, and others,
I think we have settled on the CAMM sisters, Elizabeth (Lizie) and Madge. First born 1907, second born 1911. All I need now is someone from that family to see them and confirm it.
Thanks All!
Linda
